This book offers practitioners, teachers and students ofpsychotherapy a detailed and comprehensive account of groupanalysis. It demystifies the workings of analytic groups and looksat the great stretch of issues and tasks confronting the therapistin the practice of group analytic psychotherapy. Each stage in theprocess is fully discussed: the assessment and preparation ofpatients for groups, dynamic administration, beginning and ending agroup, and the introduction of new members into an establishedgroup.
A chapter on psychopathology gives a picture of the mainpsychiatric conditions which the group therapist is likely toencounter, and offers clear guidelines on how to manage them in agroup context.
