Ridvan Askin is Research and Teaching Fellow for American and General Literatures at the University of Basel, Switzerland. He is the author of Narrative and Becoming (2016) and co-editor of Aesthetics in the 21st Century, a special issue of the journal Speculations (2014), and Literature, Ethics, Morality: American Studies Perspectives (2015). He is currently working on his second book entitled "Transcendental Poetics and the Futures of American Romanticism." He is Treasurer and SAGW Delegate of the Swiss Association for North American Studies.

Catherine Diederich is a Research and Teaching Fellow in English Linguistics at the University of Teacher Education St. Gallen, Switzerland. Her research interests are in the areas of Cognitive Linguistics, Sensory Language, and Pragmatic Competence. Her book Sensory Adjectives in the Discourse of Food (2015) presents a frame-semantic approach to sensory terminology. Her current research project investigates the use of discourse markers by native and non-native speakers of English. She is involved in the project Profession-Specific Language Competences for Foreign Language Teachers supported by the Swiss Federal Office of Culture.

Aline Bieri is a teaching and research assistant in English Linguistics at the University of Basel, Switzerland. She holds an M.A. in English and Biology from the University of Basel and is now currently working on her PhD project entitled "Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) in the Swiss Context: The linguistic challenges and implications of teaching a subject such as biology in English." She is a member of the international doctoral programme Hermann Paul School for Linguistics (HPSL).
