He is chairman of the trustees of the Ashcroft Technology Academy, a former Chancellor of Anglia Ruskin University and a former trustee of Imperial War Museums. Lord Ashcroft has a lifelong interest in bravery, and his many substantial charitable donations include more than £5 million for a new gallery bearing his name at the Imperial War Museum, London, which is home to his VC and GC collections as well as those decorations in the care of the IWM. Lord Ashcroft also donated more than £1 million towards the RAF Bomber Command Memorial in Green Park, central London, which was official unveiled by Her Majesty The Queen in 2012.
