It analyzes "Being," "One," "True," "Good" and "Beautiful" individually and discusses their importance for the philosophical knowledge of God.

Jan A. Aertsen, Ph.D. (1982) in Philosophy, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Cologne and Director of the Thomas-Institute. He has published extensively on Thomas Aquinas and the doctrine of the transcendentals including Nature and Creature, Thomas Aquinas's Way of Thought (Brill, 1988).
