In the early 2000s, the Brickhouse Boys, an indie-rock ensemble based in Vermillion, South Dakota, tried to become famous from the middle of nowhere. Über Autor(innen)

Christopher Vondracek is a writer, musician, and poet based in South Dakota. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Media & Journalism and a Master of Arts in English Literature from the University of South Dakota and an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Hamline University in Stt.Paul. His band, The Golden Bubbles, which he co-leads with his brother, Leo, has released music in the Twin Cities scene, including the nationally- reviewed 2012 album, Seventy-Two. Vondracek's poetry book, Rattlesnake Summer, was released in 2020 and features a poem for each of South Dakota's sixty-six counties.
