Jhs in Süddeutschland [Ettel], Befestigungen des frühen und älteren Mittelalters im ostbayerischen Donauraum [Boos, Schmotz], Burgen und Herrschaftszentren des frühen Mittelalters in Bayern und ihre Interpretation auf der Basis geophysikalischer Prospektion [Fassbinder, Linck], interdisziplinären Überlegungen zu Herrschaftsstrukturen des 8.-11. Jhs in der mittleren Oberpfalz [Hensch], der Erfassung und Vermessung des Goldenen Steiges mit Hilfe von Airborne Laserscan-DGM-Daten [Kerscher], dem Abschluß von Untersuchungen in Photovoltaik-Freiflächenanlagen [Schmotz] sowie einer Zwischenbilanz zum Modellprojekt “Archäologie und Ehrenamt” mit besonderem Blick auf Niederbayern [Bloier].
The volume contains 10 papers presented at the 30th archaeological conference of Lower Bavaria in 2011, an introduction, a bibliography, and a list of authors. The contributions deal with a large-scale excavation area with Neolithic to Early Medieval features near Atting [Zirngibl], with rescue excavation in the Celtic settlement zone at Kelheim-Mitterfeld [Sandner], with studies on a distribution map of archaeological features from there [Presser], with castles and strongholds in 10th-century Southern Germany [Ettel], with fortifications of the Early and Earlier Middle Ages in Bavaria and their interpretation on the basis of geophysical surveys [Fassbinder, Linck], with interdisciplinary studies on power structures in the central Upper Palatinate in the 8th to 11th centuries [Hensch], with the recording and surveying of the ancient long distance path “Goldener Steig” by means of Airborne Laser Scan DGM data [Kerscher], with the completion of archaeological research in open land photovoltaic power plants [Schmotz] as well as with an interim report on the pilot project “archaeology and honorary office” with special attention to Lower Bavaria [Bloier].
