Von den 677 in der Grabungsstelle „Gebäude P“ des Grabungsabschnitts „Tell (Zitadelle)“ registrierten Schriftartefakten in mittelassyrischer Sprache und Schrift (s. Tabelle 04.02 in BATSH 12) werden 363 in vier Bänden (BATSH 4, BATSH 9, BATSH 10 i.V., BATSH 18) ediert. In Verbindung mit dem archäologischen Kontext, der in BATSH 12, Kap. 02, 04, 12 und 18 dokumentiert und interpretiert wird, entsteht ein Bild von der Entstehung der Stadt Dur-Katlimmu, ihrer Geschichte, Funktion und Bedeutung im 13. Jahrhundert v.Chr. und darüber hinaus.
In diesem Band werden 106 Schriftartefakte in mittelassyrischer Sprache in Kopie, Umschrift und Übersetzung ediert. Sie befassen sich mit der Beauftragung von Hirten und deren Abrechnung über Herden von Rindern, Eseln und Kleinvieh, sowie mit den Erträgen von Feldern mit Gerste, Weizen und Sesam, die in diesem ariden Gebiet zum Teil nur mit Bewässerung erreicht werden konnten aber zeitweilig auch durch den Einfall von Feinden oder durch Unwetter bedroht waren. Sie gewähren erstmals Einblicke in die landwirtschaftliche Produktion und Verwaltung der assyrischen Krongüter in der Provinzstadt Dur-Katlimmu während der Regierungszeiten der Könige Salmanassar I und Tukulti-Ninurta I (1263–1197 v. Chr.).
Out of the 677 written artifacts in Middle Assyrian language and script excavated and registered in the section “Gebäude P” of the excavation unit „Tell / Citadel” (Table 04.02 in BATSH 12) 363 will be edited in four volumes: BATSH 4, BATSH 9, BATSH 10 i.p., BATSH 18. Developing a prospect on the formation of the city of Dur-Katlimmu, its history, function and significance during the 13th c. BC and beyond the archaeological context is recorded and interpreted in BATSH 12, chaps. 02, 04,12, and 18.

Herdsmen are commissioned and need to balance accounts about their flocks after returning. Yields of barley, wheat or sesame vary and are partly dependent on irrigation but are also endangered by storm or hostile actions.
