Gail A. Perry is a licensed CPA, financial journalist,author, speaker, and instructor. Gail prides herself on her abilityto present technical subjects in plain English and often with atouch of humor. Gail is a contributing editor at AccountingToday magazine, the premiere business newspaper for the tax andaccounting community. Gail is a former senior tax accountant withthe Big Four accounting firm, Deloitte, where she provided taxplanning services and financial advice to individuals and smallbusinesses. She continues to maintain a tax and financialconsulting practice for about 50 clients.
An accomplished freelance writer, Gail is the author of 18 booksand coauthor of several more on various aspects of personalfinance, taxation, and financial software. Some of her titlesinclude Surviving Financial Downsizing: A Practical Guide toLiving Well on Less Income, Show Me QuickBooks, TurboTax:The Official Guide, and TurboTax For Dummies. She hasalso written hundreds of articles for newspapers, magazines, andfinancial Web sites, and was a weekly tax columnist for five yearsfor the Indianapolis Star and Indianapolis News dailynewspapers.
Gail is a former college accounting instructor and has beenteaching adult computer classes (including Quicken) since themid-1980s. She currently teaches an online personal finance course.She has a bachelor's degree in journalism and English fromIndiana University.
