Dr Seán Lang studied history at Oxford and has beenteaching it to school, college, and university students for thepast twenty years. He is Senior Lecturer in History at AngliaRuskin University. Seán has written textbooks on nineteenthand twentieth century history, and is co-editor of TwentiethCentury history, and is co-editor of Twentieth Century HistoryReview. He has advised both Government and Opposition onhistory teaching in schools and has written on history teaching forthe Council of Europe. Seán is Honorary Secretary of theHistorical Association and often appears on radio and televisiontalking about historical topics - often because of this book.
