[Sacred Languages? The Discussion about the Role of the Languages of the Bible in the Study of Theology]
The old languages, Hebrew, Greek, and Latin, still hold their place at the beginning of the study of theology. But the modularization of study now calls for a revision. This requires a careful consideration of arguments, in which the question of the theological relevance of language plays an important role. Because in regard to the “question of languages” nothing less is decided as the position of theology within the context of the other sciences and the church.
The volume contributes with interdisciplinary considerations to the discussion about an accountable new role of the old languages in the study of theology.
