Den Zusammenhang von Praxis, Theorie und Forschung in der klinischen Sozialarbeit darzustellen ist Ziel des Bandes. The book is divided into two parts. Part I focuses mainly on the practical-methodological and theoretical bases of Clinical Social Work as a profession and discipline, Part II introduces practice research in selected work areas. In the introduction, the author describes and characterizes a special form of Clinical Social Work that pays particular attention to the social aspects regarding health and illness – complementary to the somatic and mental aspects of professional healthcare. This form requires the development of specific knowledge and action so that it can be implemented within the healthcare system. Clinical-social health-related action is usually embedded in multiprofessional systems on the basis of its own models of understanding regarding health and illness and uses its own concepts and strategies of action which shall be further illuminated.After the introduction in theory-oriented Part I, four chapters elaborately outline Practice, Theory and Research, Diagnostics and Casuistry, Methods in Clinical Social Work and its Relatedness to the Health Sciences.
