Professor William George Young has seen and followed morethan 1500 patients with moderate to advanced toothwear over thepast 25 years, maintaining a specialist practice dedicated totoothwear and dental erosion. Having lectured and workedconcurrently at Universities for more than 35 years, ProfessorYoung has supervised and co-ordinate undergraduate and postgraduateresearch projects in this field. The book Teeth on Edge,(2002), remains at the forefront of this field.
Dr Farid Khan has conducted extensive research into theToothwear field and has co-authored the text By The Skin of ourTeeth (2009 in Press) with Professor Young. Together they havecompleted many research projects and authored journal articles,which focus their efforts on presenting findings and their passionfor the field at numerous dental conferences, seminars andcontinuing education events for more than a decade. Dr Khan hasrecently been awarded a Queensland Government Grant to publish aguide for Queensland dentists and to formulate multiple choiceexaminations for continuing education purposes concurrently.
