Auf internationaler Ebene, so seitens politischer Entscheidungsträger, Klinikern und Ärzten, Graduierten und Laien, wächst das Interesse an der Bindungstheorie. Dennoch werden die Publikationen führender Forscher und auch wichtige theoretische und empirische Abhandlungen häufig kaum gelesen oder verstanden. Grundsatztexte sind nicht direkt zugänglich. Die Theorie wird häufig missverstanden, auch von Praktikern in ihrer täglichen Arbeit. Hinzu kommt, dass die Bindungstheorie mitunter falsch angewandt wird. Zurückzuführen ist dies teilweise auf den Umstand, dass Grundsatztexte in Zeitschriften erscheinen, die nicht frei zugänglich ist, oder in Büchern veröffentlicht werden, die Klinikern und interessierten Lesern nicht präsent oder die zu teuer sind. Dieses Buch soll zum einen prägnant und zugänglich sein, zum anderen die Bindungstheorie auf interessante Weise, aktuell und mit all ihren Facetten präsentieren. Es enthält Nachdrucke sorgfältig ausgewählter Buchkapitel und Zeitungsartikel sowie bislang unveröffentlichtes Material des Begründers der Bindungstheorie.

TOMMIE FORSLUND, Psychologist, PhD, is a researcher at the Department of Psychology, Stockholm University; and a researcher at SUF Resource Center, Region Uppsala, Sweden. He is a coder of the Strange Situation Procedure, author of an international consensus statement regarding attachment theory and research, and winner of The Society in Emotion and Attachment Studies dissertation award “Excellence in Attachment Research”.

ROBBIE DUSCHINSKY, PhD, is University Senior Lecturer in Social Sciences in the Primary Care Unit, University of Cambridge; and Director of Studies and a Fellow at Sidney Sussex College. He is the author of Cornerstones of Attachment Research (2020) and, with Kate White, co-editor of Trauma and Loss: Key Texts from the John Bowlby Archive (2019).
