Arthur M Feldman MD PhD
After receiving his B.A. degree from Gettysburg College, andM.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Maryland, Dr. Feldmanserved as a post-doctoral fellow in physiology at the Johns HopkinsUniversity School of Medicine. After completing his medical degreeat the Louisiana State University School of Medicine, he returnedto Johns Hopkins where he served as an intern, resident andcardiology fellow.
After joining the faculty in 1985, he was named the Director of theBelfer Laboratory for Molecular Biology of Heart Failure and theDirector of the Heart Failure Research Program at The Johns HopkinsUniversity School of Medicine. In 2004 Dr. Feldman joined thefaculty at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine as theHarry S. Tack Professor of Medicine, Chief of the Division ofCardiology, and Director of the Cardiovascular Institute of theUPMC Health System.
In 2002, Dr. Feldman was named the Magee Professor of Medicine andChairman of the Department of Medicine at Jefferson MedicalCollege. He is a past President of the Heart Failure Society ofAmerica and of the Association of Professors of Cardiology. He hasserved on the editorial boards of many scientific journals and waselected to membership in organizations including Alpha Omega Alpha,the Association of University Cardiologists, the American Societyfor Clinical Investigation and the Association of AmericanPhysicians.
He has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Feldman'sresearch has focused on molecular and clinical aspects of heartfailure. Most recently he has chaired the Steering Committees forthe PEECH, EMOTE and WEAR-IT trials and co-chaired the COMPANIONstudy.
