It does not go into detailed explanations and justifications and it does not derive formulae and analyses. Readers will have to consult the longer standard texts for this.
It will be used by students, practicing civil engineers - senior and junior - and by engineering geologists as a short easily read summary of the basic theories and as a guide to the routine analyses of ground engineering.
